WWE Crown Jewel 2024 will emanate from Mohammad Abdo Arena in Riyadh this Saturday. Despite top names like CM Punk and Drew McIntyre sitting this out, Triple H has carved a star-studded card with legitimately intriguing storylines.
Fans are thrilled as The Original Bloodline (Roman Reigns and the reunited Usos) battle The New Bloodline, led by Solo Sikoa, in a colossal Six-Man Tag Team Match. Two huge champion-vs-champion matches have been scheduled to determine the first-ever Crown Jewel Champions for the respective divisions; Cody Rhodes and Gunther will fight for the Men's Crown Jewel Title, while Nia Jax and Liv Morgan will fight for the Women's crown jewel.
Former friends Randy Orton and Kevin Owens will wrestle in a grudge match. So much more has been confirmed for the event, justifying the hype heading into the PLE.
Although Triple H has largely given the fans what they wanted, Hunter should be extra cautious this Saturday. On that note, let's look at four mistakes he must not make at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#4. WWE Crown Jewel Title matches are marred by interference
The introduction of the Crown Jewel Championships led to WWE pausing many existing storylines. Cody Rhodes has much on his plate, with The Bloodline's shadow and Kevin Owens' surprise betrayal haunting him.
However, The American Nightmare has focused solely on Gunther in the last few weeks. The Ring General also had an interesting segment with Goldberg at Bad Blood, but there was no follow-up because the World Heavyweight Champion quickly moved on to his feud with Rhodes.
Liv Morgan has a neverending rivalry with Rhea Ripley, and Nia Jax's frenemy, Tiffany Stratton, will always have some influence on Jax's feuds and matches. Nevertheless, despite Triple H pausing several rivalries, it is only a matter of time before Hunter resumes the programs.
All four champions have been protected. Rhodes or Gunther are unlikely to lose clean, which suggests that KO or Golderg will interfere. Furthermore, Ripley would love to get under Morgan's skin, and Stratton is waiting for the ideal opportunity to cash in her MITB briefcase.
However, Triple H should book clean finishes for the two WWE Crown Jewel Championship matches. This would elevate the prestige of the new title, making it look like something worth fighting without shenanigans. Secondly, it would avoid the risk of unnecessary overbooking.
#3. Kevin Owens needs to defeat Randy Orton
Cody Rhodes' decision to fight with Roman Reigns against Solo Sikoa's Bloodline derailed his friendship with Kevin Owens. KO assaulted Rhodes backstage upon the conclusion of Bad Blood.
Rhodes and Owens' mutual friend Randy Orton attempted to diffuse the situation. However, KO assaulted him backstage, removing all hopes of a reconciliation.
The Viper wanted a match with Owens at WWE Crown Jewel, but Nick Aldis declined because of Triple H's orders. Eventually, Orton goaded Hunter into booking the match this Saturday.
While fans would love to see Orton hit an RKO on Owens at WWE Crown Jewel, The Prizefighter should walk away with the victory. If WWE wants KO to appear as a credible heel, he needs big victories to build momentum. Punishing and beating Orton in Saudi Arabia, where he is sure to be heavily cheered, would build tremendous heel heat. Furthermore, WWE needs to justify the background story of this match being "too dangerous" for The Viper.
A humiliating defeat to Owens, followed by a post-match assault, would justify Hunter's intentions to protect The Viper.
#2. Seth "Freakin" Rollins vs. "Big" Bronson Reed should have a decisive finish
The Seth Rollins-Bronson Reed saga started with Reed's obsession to become a top star. Laying out The Visionary with six Tsunamis on the RAW After SummerSlam was an effective way of capturing attention, beginning a monster push for the former NXT North American Champion.
However, "Big" Bronson Reed made a rival out of The Visionary, who tapped into his inner monster to put an end to the Australian heavyweight's rampage. The chaotic nature of this rivalry has seen some explosive backstage rivalries, where both men were usually equally matched, with officials pulling them away.
This past week on RAW, Reed delivered a Death Valley Driver to Rollins in the parking lot, casting some doubt over the status of their match at WWE Crown Jewel.
Either way, despite the explosive nature of the rivalry, Triple H has not added a hardcore stipulation to their match this Saturday, suggesting a controversial or inconclusive finish. However, Hunter should book a legitimate climax to this epic rivalry at WWE Crown Jewel.
Considering the rampage he has been on, a win would solidify Reed as the next true monster of Monday Night RAW; the loss would build sympathy for Rollins and increase his frustrations, leading The Visionary closer to a heel turn.
#1. The Bloodline 2.0 cannot suffer another major loss at WWE Crown Jewel
The Bloodline 2.0 has the numbers; they also have three untamed, aggressive men fiercely loyal to a powerful leader in Solo Sikoa. However, they have lost crucial matches in the last few months.
Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu lost to Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes at Bad Blood. The Bloodline lost the Tag Team Titles to the upstart Motor City Machine Guns on SmackDown last week. However, Sikoa and the company have an opportunity to redeem themselves at WWE Crown Jewel 2024.
Roman Reigns and The Usos may be on the same page, but all has not been forgiven. Therefore, with compromised unity, The Bloodline 2.0 could easily manipulate its rivals to gain a massive win in Saudi Arabia.
This would elevate The Bloodline 2.0's momentum, and deepen the civil war heading into Survivor Series: WarGames.
