WWE Monday Night RAW will be airing later tonight on Netflix and fans are excited. This will be the second episode to air live on the streaming platform and after a premium live event-sized show last week, what will RAW have in store this time?
There are several big and intriguing matches announced. Lyra Valkyria and Dakota Kai will clash to become the first-ever Women's Intercontinental Champion, Finn Balor and Damian Priest will have a Street Fight, and Sheamus will do battle with Ludwig Kaiser.
Perhaps the most intriguing match scheduled for RAW is Chad Gable versus a mystery opponent. All fans know for sure is that the star is masked, but it is almost certainly Penta, who will be debuting at any time now.
The former All Elite Wrestling star debuting should be a big deal and fans are excited. Still, Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment must be careful. There are key mistakes they should avoid making with one-half of The Lucha Brothers and this article will outline a handful of errors to steer clear of.
Below are four mistakes WWE should not make with Penta's rumored RAW debut.
#4. He can't lose in his debut match for WWE
The most obvious and blatant mistake WWE could make with Penta is to have him lose to Chad Gable in his debut match. Under no circumstances can Penta do anything but pick up a victory.
While this may seem like common sense, this is the kind of mistake Vince McMahon often made in the past. A star like Karrion Kross debuted on RAW while being the NXT Champion and immediately lost to Jeff Hardy.
Triple H isn't quite clear from this critcism either, albeit in a different form. Giovanni Vinci's character refresh had potential, but he lost instantly and the WWE star is yet to regain momentum since then. Penta can't suffer a similar fate.
#3. Penta's past cannot be ignored
Penta has had a storied career prior to now joining WWE. Fans likely know him best from his time in All Elite Wrestling where he frequently teamed up with his real-life brother Fenix.
Beyond that, Penta had plenty of other success too. He competed in Mexico, of course, but American fans really took notice of him when he wrestled in Lucha Underground. The new WWE star also competed in IMPACT Wrestling.
It is essential that World Wrestling Entertainment doesn't try to scrub out his history. Triple H's version of the company is far better at this than the previous regime, but regardless, Penta is a beloved veteran of the industry and that should be celebrated. Hiding his past or pretending nobody knows him would be foolish and just create a disconnect.
#2. While he can't lose, Penta also can't squash Chad Gable
Penta has to win his debut match for WWE, that has already been addressed and established. With that being said, he is facing Chad Gable and this cannot be a one-sided match or a squash.
Chad Gable is one of the best pro wrestlers in the world and one of the most talented men in WWE. He re-signed with the Sports Entertainment juggernaut and thanks to The Alpha Academy, American Made, and rivalries with The Wyatt Sicks, Sami Zayn, and Gunther, has become a bigger name than ever before.
The Olympian has to be treated as a credible threat and with that, he has to be competitive. While Gable can recover from almost anything, it would only hurt him, even if temporarily, to be outright squashed by the debuting Penta. Plus, it would look bad for American Made.
#1. He should not be paired up with the Latino World Order
The Latino World Order is a faction on WWE RAW led by Rey Mysterio. In addition to the Hall of Famer, the stable also features Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, Zelina Vega, and the underrated Dragon Lee.
Despite many fans loving the Latino World Order, there has been some criticisms of the group from WWE fans. One criticism is that the group has felt too big at times, leading to some stars taking a backseat. Additionally, there has been a concern that too many Latino and Latina performers are thrown together.
Whether those criticisms have merit or not, it would be best to keep Penta away from The Latino World Order just in case. The last thing the company wants is to upset fans or make the hard working talent unhappy. Penta on his own is a much better move.
