WWE's standard of in-ring action has evolved significantly over the years. The matches have become intricate, fast-paced, and filled with outrageous moves to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Therefore, it's necessary for WWE stars to evolve their movesets from time to time. This could be for various reasons. It could be done for enhancing their on-screen presentation, ensuring their physical well-being, or simply because a move was not safe to execute.
Here is a list of four wrestling moves WWE Superstars need to bring back in 2024.
#4. Sami Zayn's Koji Clutch
Sami Zayn currently uses the Helluva Kick, a devastating running boot in the corner, as his primary finisher in WWE. However, during his NXT tenure, he employed the Koji Clutch as his signature submission move.
This hold involved wrapping his arms around the opponent's neck from behind, trapping one of their arms with his legs. Seeing how Zayn currently lacks a prominent submission maneuver in his repertoire, reintroducing the Koji Clutch could significantly enhance his arsenal.
#3. Randy Orton's Dropkick
The Dropkick is one of the classic professional wrestling moves, where the wrester would do a jump and extend both their legs to deliver an impactful kick to the opponent.
The Dropkick was one of the major moves in Randy Orton's arsenal for many years and it was widely accepted that the star had one of the best dropkicks in the business. However, he had to reduce it over the past few years due to his serious back issues. But now that The Viper is back from his injury and feeling perfectly okay, he could consider bringing back the Dropkick, on occasion at least, during some important matches moving forward.
#2. Roman Reigns' Vaulting Plancha
A Vaulting Plancha is a high-flying and high-risk maneuver where the wrestler dives over the top rope to take out an opponent standing outside the ring. It's an astonishing move to see, especially from someone of Roman Reigns' physical stature.
Reigns stopped using this move when he became The Tribal Chief, as high-flying dives are typically more effective for babyfaces looking to pop the crowd. However, with many believing that Roman is set to return as a full-fledged babyface, he could bring back the Vaulting Plancha and take out The Bloodline all on his own with the plancha.
#1. Cody Rhodes' Moonsault
Cody Rhodes has an impressive moveset, but one of his most jaw-dropping moves is an audacious moonsault from the top rope. He took this to another level during his time in AEW when he executed the move from the top of a cage.
Since returning to WWE, The American Nightmare has reduced his usage of the Moonsault, only pulling it out on rare occasions. Now that Rhodes is the Undisputed WWE Champion, he may look to keep expanding his moveset. Reintroducing the Moonsault could be a great addition to his repertoire, and earn a great pop at the same time for the perfect execution of the move.
