I know... I know... this was the obvious option. For months upon end, we’ve heard the rumors of Brock Lesnar returning to the octagon to face Daniel Cormier. However, Brock’s legal troubles and difficulties in negotiating a wage packet have stopped that fight coming to fruition.

Some would even say Lesnar was never serious about returning to the Octagon, he just wanted to strengthen his bargaining power with WWE. Inevitably, Vince McMahon bent over backward for him and offered him a deal he couldn’t refuse.

So, wouldn’t it be poetic justice for these two combat athletes to finally meet in a squared circle instead? The storyline is already there, the animosity is already there, and the drawing power is certainly there.

The two could engage in a shoot match where they tread on the border of a sports entertainment and UFC match. It’d need to be hard-hitting and uncomfortable, a type of fight that would legitimatize the WWE in the eyes of the fighting world.
