Chelsea Green was the first woman from SmackDown to qualify for the 2024 WWE Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match. She secured her spot by defeating Bianca Belair and Michin in a Triple Threat match.

Last year's winner, IYO SKY, also qualified for the match and will be a favorite again this year. Jade Cargill will face Tiffany Stratton and Candice LeRae in another SmackDown qualifier next week. Blair Davenport, Indi Hartwell, and Naomi will also battle for a spot in the ladder match.

Chelsea Green may not stand out among names like Cargill, Belair, and SKY, but she is in the match nonetheless. For the following four reasons, she should be the 2024 Ms. Money in the Bank.

#4. Chelsea Green has been a low-key MVP of the women's division

While she hasn't dominated the competition on RAW and SmackDown, Chelsea Green has delivered with every opportunity. Her pairing with Piper Niven has been entertaining as she hides behind the imposing performer.

She's also put over several women in defeat, making the winners look good. Chelsea Green has worked on RAW, SmackDown, and NXT this year and always provides entertaining moments.

Returning to the ring in a Lucha mask after being ejected earlier at Clash at the Castle was a hilarious moment. Getting ping-ponged off stars during the Royal Rumble also showed her range as a performer.

#3. Whiny heels are the best choices to carry the case

Just like King and Queen of the Ring, the best choices to win are often heels. Some heels like Brock Lesnar or Gunther are dominant enough that having a briefcase really isn't fair.

When a whiny heel like Chelsea Green possesses a title shot whenever she wants, the storytelling is better. The sneaky heel can routinely tease a cash-in or weasel their way out of an unfavorable situation.

Austin Theory and Baron Corbin played that part well, as did Damien Sandow. Green's character allows her to be as annoying as possible, making her a good choice to win this year's briefcase.

#2. She's a better wrestler than her WWE character suggests

Being a comedic wrestler can often cause some fans to pigeonhole certain wrestlers. While his gimmick is polarizing, Orange Cassidy is a complete wrestler who can do much more than put his hands in his pockets.

R-Truth is hilarious but has a great base in the ring that helps him sell the character. Chelsea Green has been in the business for almost a decade. She's won the TNA Knockouts Championship and has competed all over the globe.

If she wasn't able to hang in the ring, she wouldn't have the longevity she's had. When the moment allows it, she even breaks out moves like Suicide Dives and Superkicks.

While practically every wrestler uses both of those moves in today's game, they need to be executed safely and correctly to be effective. Green does both.

#1. Cashing in on either of the current women's champs would be believable

Whoever leaves Toronto as Ms. Money in the Bank will have their choice of vulnerable Champions. Having the gold is one thing. Keeping it and fending off every challenger is another thing.

Bayley is one of the top women in WWE, but she's arguably not a powerhouse or cerebral assassin. Before winning the title, she routinely put over Bianca Belair and other faces on SmackDown.

When one thinks of the best female wrestler in WWE, Liv Morgan may not be the first name that comes to mind. She's a talented performer but not in the vein of Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, or a legend like Trish Stratus.

Cash-ins are more believable when the titleholders aren't world-beaters. It's nice to see other women win gold instead of the latest top four of Belair, Flair, Lynch, and Ripley.

Prior booking, however, suggests that Morgan and Bayley's time atop their respective brands may be limited. Chelsea Green taking advantage would be believable due to the women currently holding the titles.
