4 reasons why Damian Priest should leave The Judgment Day after the latest WWE RAW: heavy crown, group origins & more

Things have been all over the place lately with the Judgmetn Day.
Things have been all over the place lately with the Judgmetn Day.

Despite being the World Heavyweight Champion, Damian Priest can't seem to get the rest of The Judgment Day on the same page. Dominik Mysterio routinely does his own thing and interjects himself into other feuds.

Rhea Ripley's voice of reason can't be heard on RAW since she's out with an injury. That leaves Priest as the final say in the group business.

That business has left The Archer of Infamy taking on more than he would like for various reasons out of his control. He should leave The Judgment Day for the following four reasons after how things went down on the latest episode of RAW.

#4. The origins of The Judgment Day

While Edge is no longer with WWE, he is the father of The Judgment Day. The group was built off his feud with AJ Styles in 2022. Priest helped The Rated R Superstar pick up a win over Styles at WrestleMania 38.

Rhea Ripley then joined the group after turning on Liv Morgan. Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh joined at later dates. Damian Priest was the first member added to the group. He had a hand in creating the faction as it sits, but the time always comes for things to end.

Evolution, The Shield, The nWo, and DX all broke up for various reasons. The time has come for Priest to break up The Judgment Day in one form or fashion.

#3. Too many unnecessary side feuds

The Judgment Day has already dealt with Rey Mysterio and the LWO. It was one of the group's first feuds but it's in the past. The problem with that, however, is that Dominik Mysterio won't let it stay in the past.

He keeps cozying up with people who betray his father Rey. Dominik was chummy with Santos Escobar and more recently, Carlito. The headaches caused by the ongoing fights just added unneeded tension to Priest's shoulders.

Braun Strowman has recently tangled with the group much to the dismay of JD McDonagh. The faction is spread too thin on many different fronts and indirectly helped Liv Morgan retain the title on RAW. Things would run much more smoothly if they stayed out of non-club business.

#2. Other members can't handle business themselves

The rest of the Judgment Day hasn't met the recent success of Damian Priest.
The rest of the Judgment Day hasn't met the recent success of Damian Priest.

After Damian Priest won the World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 40, personally regaining the tag team titles hasn't been his top priority. It makes sense - the singles title is more prestigious than tag team titles.

Since he's moved up, Balor, McDonagh, and Mysterio have tried to win back the tag team titles. Every attempt thus far has been unsuccessful. Because he's allied with Balor and the rest of the group, Priest has needed to interject himself to finish the job.

By constantly needing to clean up their messes, Priest must be tired of this type of trouble. If his friends can't handle the business given to them, why is he still running with them?

#1. He needs to worry about the World Heavyweight Title

Damian Priest has no shortage of viable challengers for the World Heavyweight title.
Damian Priest has no shortage of viable challengers for the World Heavyweight title.

Despite losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 40, Damian Priest didn't leave the show empty-handed. He cashed in Money in the Bank on Drew McIntyre to win the World Heavyweight Title.

His main focus should be defending that title rather than fighting Rey Mysterio for the third time. McIntyre caught Seth Rollins in the middle of doing the same thing since he was involved with The Bloodline business at The Show of Shows.

The simple fact is that all of Priest's focus should be on the World Heavyweight Title. He's a marked man and enemies from all fronts will be coming at him from every side. Having to clean up messy club business isn't worth it anymore since he's the top dog on RAW.
