A possible match between John Cena and Logan Paul could come to fruition at this year’s WrestleMania 41. This follows reports suggesting that such a matchup has been internally discussed by WWE higher-ups since the industry G.O.A.T. and the social media superstar are huge names in their respective fields.
It has garnered mixed reactions, but the interest among fans is very much there. Whatever WWE’s reasons are, it shows how open the promotion is to such possibilities under Triple H’s leadership as chief content officer.
But what could be their reasons for it to land on the talking table? Here are some of the probable grounds.

#4. A John Cena – Logan Paul bout for WrestleMania 41 would create a huge buzz
A WrestleMania 41 match featuring John Cena and Logan Paul would have the WWE Universe talking.
The latter, being a controversial figure across the interwebs, would raise eyebrows of people who are not down with such a matchup. Despite the issues Paul has been entangled in over the years, a match against WWE’s G.O.A.T. will pique the interest of fans and show how he will measure up against Cena.
Further, since Cena will be kicking off his retirement tour next year, it will be an honor for Paul to be part of it and wrestle one of pro wrestling’s greatest.
#3. Logan Paul expressed his desire to wrestle John Cena years before
It was during this year’s Money in the Bank that John Cena announced that 2025 will be his final year competing inside the squared circle. It was also during the PLE that he issued an open challenge to every WWE Superstar who wants to get the chance to share the ring with him and be part of history.
Logan Paul, on the other hand, expressed his eagerness to have a match against Cena a couple of years back.
This was in 2022 during an episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast where he revealed that he wanted to have a match against Cena at WrestleMania 39 since Night 1 of the wrestling spectacle was his birthday.
It did not come to fruition at the time. However, come next year, such a wish might finally be granted since Cena issued a challenge to WWE’s roster of superstars who wish to go at it inside the ring.
#2. It could make Logan a much bigger heel
Logan Paul has been a heel ever since he was introduced in WWE back in 2021. It did not gain much traction, though, since everyone was not yet allowed to gather in huge venues due to the ongoing global health crisis at the time.
Things changed the following year at his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38. Thunderous boos could be heard from the crowd when he made his way to the ring alongside his tag partner at the time, WWE Superstar The Miz.
Provided that WWE’s Creative decides to finally give him a match against John Cena and the G.O.A.T. loses to him, it is expected that fans would go nuclear on him. Paul is pretty much taking advantage of the controversies that got him "canceled," which makes it easy for the WWE Universe to dislike him big time.
#1. Saves John Cena’s 17th championship story for later in the year
WWE has been observed to have this penchant for rolling out their WrestleMania PLE in the month of April. With that in mind, the promotion could cook up a long-term storyline for John Cena by not winning his record-breaking 17th championship at WrestleMania and have him get pitted against Logan Paul instead.
Paul, despite his sporadic appearances, not to mention still learning the ropes of the business, has grown to become an excellent in-ring competitor and quickly established his name in the promotion. He is also good on the mic, where he can easily rile up the crowd.
Using the above-mentioned in-ring and mic skills alongside Cena’s star power will get fans hooked even more and build the anticipation of Cena ultimately achieving his goal before ending his illustrious WWE career.
