#3 WWE needs Lesnar as champ when SmackDown moves to FOX
SmackDown Live will make the transition to FOX on this October after WWE signed a stunning 5-year contract worth $200 Million a year. The network reportedly has big plans for the show and are even planning to have US President & WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump to appear on the first episode on October 18.
WWE will look to take away the B-Show status away from SmackDown Live this October, and it became evident when they drafted Roman Reigns to the brand on the Superstar Shake-up. Now that superstars from Raw & SmackDown live can appear on both shows, Vince McMahon would want a superstar with huge drawing capacity to be the Universal Champion on the first episode of SmackDown Live on FOX TV.
One thing we can be sure about is despite all the whining, people will eventually turn up to see what WWE does with Brock Lesnar. Having him as the champion during the blue brand's transition would do a great deal of good in terms of ratings for the WWE.
