Money in the Bank 2024 was indeed an unforgettable night for the WWE Universe. This is significantly due to the impromptu declaration from John Cena about his official retirement from the Stamford-based promotion in 2025. Besides this, MITB 2024 also witnessed thrilling traditional ladder matches and a blockbuster main event with The Bloodline securing the triumph.

WWE has recently officially publicized multiple records that were shattered by this Canadian premium live event this past weekend. In this article, we will discuss all the astonishing stats set by MITB 2024.

Over the years, WWE held some major shows in Canada and the TKO-led company's recent visit has broken many records. Money in the Bank took place in Toronto this past weekend at Scotiabank Arena.

The premium live event featured many surprises and has set a prominent record by becoming the highest-grossing WWE arena event in Canada in the history of the promotion.

#3. MITB has record-setting viewership numbers

Money in the Bank 2024 featured some of the top stars on the card and not only did the PLE achieve the highest gate for a Canadian event, but it also surpassed viewership numbers.

This year's Money in the Bank Premium Live Event was the most-watched MITB event of all time. This shattered the record set by last year's event, which was held at The O2 Arena with an increase of about 46 percent in viewership. This demonstrates how the Stamford-based promotion continues to expand its market year after year.

#2. Revenue record for fan hospitality and merchandise selling

World Wrestling Entertainment has a partnership with Fanatics for its merchandise sales, and this year's Money in the Bank saw sales surpass last year's record-breaking numbers. One of the most popular items over the weekend in Toronto was the Canadian-themed MITB briefcase.

The entire MITB weekend, which included four events from Thursday to Sunday, set a revenue record for fan experience packages offered by the exclusive partner On Location. These events included "Sami Zayn & Friends Do Toronto," Friday Night SmackDown, Money in the Bank, and NXT Heatwave at Scotiabank Arena. Over 45,000 fans attended all these events collectively throughout the weekend.

#1. John Cena's retirement announcement becomes the most viewed segment since WrestleMania XL

The unforeseen arrival of John Cena at Money in the Bank 2024 and his retirement announcement have generated a massive buzz on social media. This digital video has already accumulated more than 65 million social media views in the first 24 hours.

This makes Cena's retirement announcement the company's most-viewed social segment since this year's Showcase of The Immortals.
