First things first, WWE Elimination Chamber 2019 was a blast. It had everything; great wrestling, awesome spots, amazing promos, and more. While the mid-card matches just existed, the matches that elevated the PPV to the top level were definitely both Elimination Chamber matches that started and ended the show. Although we're still in the second month of the year, there's no doubt that this year's Elimination Chamber will be one of the best shows of WWE in 2019.
An excellent show is only possible because of the effort and passion put in by excellent superstars. It's only possible when the superstars go the extra mile to please and awe the fans with career-threatening manoeuvres and bone-breaking spots.
So, without, further ado, let's dive into the discussion of this article's topic. Here are the few superstars who stole the show this Sunday.
#4 Becky Lynch
Becky Lynch may be facing suspension. She may be standing only with the help of crutches. She may be out of WrestleMania picture. But these reasons didn't stop her from stealing the show though.
'The Man', to the surprise of the fans, emerged from the audience this Sunday after Ronda's title defence and during the face-off between her and Charlotte. With the support of crutches, she found her way inside the ring and with the support of those same crutches, she beat the living hell out of both Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair.
Even though, the spot with Ronda was a bit predictable, it was fun to watch the 'Most Over Superstar in WWE' right now take it out on the two most coveted female superstars of the current WWE roster.
Following this, it'd be interesting to see how the McMahon family would react to Becky barging in the ring despite the suspension on her. Although Becky's spot in Wrestlemania main event is an established fact by now, the way it will be done is something to look forward to in the coming weeks.
#3 Boss & Hug Connection [Sasha & Bayley]
Sasha Banks and Bayley has been back and forth a lot in regards to their friendship in recent years. So, when they joined hands to be a tag team, the WWE Universe had its doubts in believing in the team's longevity. But fortunately, they had stuck together stronger than ever and now they are the inaugural WWE Women's Tag Team Champions.
As expected, both veterans really stood out in Women's Elimination Chamber match that opened the show this Sunday. They hardly took a back seat in the entire duration of the match. Although Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville stayed as long and fought as hard as they did, 'The Boss' and 'The Hugger' definitely stole the show.
The reason being their novel and well-crafted moves and the amount of damage they sustained through the entirety of the match.
#2 Daniel Bryan
The New Daniel Bryan with his eco-friendly WWE title started the match with Samoa Joe and stayed till the end, thus successfully defending his title. But before the match itself, the WWE champion had a lot to say to the fans as usual. It was great promo work by Bryan whose heel persona is growing on fans in a good way with every passing week.
The amount of punishment he took and the way he put over Kofi in the last minutes of the show really made him stand apart among the pool of five other superstars in this potential five-star match. By the end of the match, his effort could be reflected by the scars on his chest in the last minutes of the match as he stood tall with his eco-friendly WWE title.
He was, as usual, at his best with his offensive moves and sold the match to the audience with to-the-point execution of his moves and expressions.
#1 Kofi Kingston
No surprises here. Kofi Kingston, one-third of the New Day, is 'The Showstealer' of this year's Elimination Chamber. Being added to the match very late and by chance didn't make Kofi any less relevant as he delivered a passionate performance in the art of wrestling this Sunday.
As he entered into the match in the third spot, fans knew what to expect from one of the WWE's prime high flyers as he gave a scoop of what to come in the gauntlet match at the go-home show of SmackDown Live.
Among the top talent of WWE, Kofi Kingston stood tall by eliminating a veteran like Randy Orton and making the titleholder scratch and crawl to win. The WWE Universe was totally invested in, presumably, one of the best performances of his career thus far. They chanted Kofi's name throughout his involvement in the match and watched with great interest as he told the story of a superstar who gave everything he had to offer.
Kofi Kingston could be seen shouting "This is my time" in the closing stretch of the match and I want to end this article by saying, "Amen to that, Kofi. This is your time." Also, let's hope WWE will give him a shot at the title after this stellar performance by him.
