Big E made a shocking return on the latest edition of WWE RAW in Everett, Washington. However, what was supposed to be a happy reunion of The New Day on their tenth anniversary became a nightmare for him. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods shockingly turned their backs on the 38-year-old star, abandoning him high and dry.

What added more to the wounds of fans was the fact that Kofi and Woods callously dismissed the possibility of Big E's in-ring return. Despite the poignant segment, there have been several teases of the former WWE Champion gracing the ring soon. The Stamford-based company has dropped subtle cues that his comeback to the squared circle might not be a distant dream after all.

Below are four signs Big E will return to the ring from his injury.

#4. He underwent stem cell treatment and not surgery

Big E suffered a serious neck injury back in April 2022 in which he fractured his two cervical vertebrae. However, the 38-year-old did not undergo any sort of surgery, rather he had a stem cell treatment. It is often regarded as a much safer process that allows an individual to recover faster from injuries or chronic pain.

A non-surgical treatment allows superstars to hit the wrestling ring once again as it poses a lesser risk compared to surgery. Besides, WWE has reiterated this on The New Day's tenth-anniversary segment on RAW, which could be considered as a positive hint. Therefore, the former WWE Champion is likely to lace up his wrestling boots once again after a complete rehabilitation process.

#3. Big E kept hopes of in-ring return alive

The New Day's segment on RAW this week broke a lot of hearts after an unexpected betrayal by Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of Big E. WWE had every opportunity to make it more heartbreaking by letting the 38-year-old star announce his retirement from in-ring action on his faction's tenth-anniversary celebration.

However, Big E did not do that which was a clear indication that his in-ring return was inevitable and he kept a beacon of hope among the WWE Universe. The New Day's powerhouse said that he was undergoing regular scans and X-rays to get medically cleared to step inside the squared circle once again.

#2. Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston negated the possibility of Big E's return

WWE has a pattern of showcasing things opposite to what is supposed to happen to swerve fans. This week on RAW, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods dropped quite a heartfelt line when they told Big E that he would never be medically cleared to compete in the ring. They were oozing confidence that it would never happen, leaving the WWE Universe in emotional turmoil.

By having Woods and Kofi negate the possibility of the former WWE Champion's comeback with such conviction, the company might be cleverly hinting that the opposite is bound to happen. It could be a potential move to misdirect fans into thinking against the idea of it happening.

#1. WWE highlighted the miraculous returns of retired wrestlers

One of the biggest signs that Big E will grace the wrestling ring once again is WWE highlighting the miraculous in-ring returns of those superstars who were once forced to retire due to neck injuries. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods dropped the names of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Kurt Angle, and Edge, now known as Adam Copeland, and reflected on how they made their way back.

Should Big E's retirement be on the horizon, WWE would not have made the notable mentions of these legends and their comeback journey. Hence, the 38-year-old is expected to tread the same path and include his name on that elite list of superstars who never gave up their hope.
