![I thought that the IIconics scoring a victory was a really big deal](https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=190 190w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=720 720w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=640 640w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=1045 1045w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=1200 1200w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=1460 1460w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg?w=1600 1600w, https://statico.sportskeeda.com/editor/2018/10/549d8-15388341729521-800.jpg 1920w)
There is a long-standing gag amongst fans is that WWE, for some reason, hates having Superstars win in front of their hometown crowd. This is not without reason, because more often than not, if a wrestler on the main roster is fighting a match in front of his home crowd, it is safe to bet that they will lose the match. Charlotte and Sasha Banks - both of whom lost gold in their respective hometowns a couple of years ago - come to mind.
Of course, there have been some very memorable 'hometown hero' moment throughout the company's history. For example - British Bulldog with his iconic Intercontinental Championship victory at Wembley and CM Punk defeating Cena in Chicago. It seems like WWE decided to give Australia its own heroes, as The IIconics picked up an unexpected victory in their tag team match against Naomi and Asuke, while Buddy Murphy went on to win the Cruiserweight Championship.
