The Road to Wrestlemania has begun and every Superstar gives his best shot at this point of the year to be on the main card. To disappoint us, it looks like that this year too the creative would give slots to part-timers like Shane McMahon and John Cena. If that happens, then there will be very few full-time active wrestlers that would be on the main card. At this pace, it looks as if the following stars will be in the 'Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal' though we certainly don't want that to happen.
#4 Dolph Ziggler
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
Let's admit that 2017 had been a disastrous year for Dolph Ziggler and his fans. 2018 is starting out to be the same too. WWE had given us a ray of hope with his re-debut was going on. It became brighter when he had relinquished his US title in a surge of strengthening his character. There is no doubt that there are a very few in the WWE right now that can match his in-ring skills. We don't need Dolph to say that, we want him to prove that.
What he requires is a victory in a solid 5-star 20-minute plus matchup higher up the card. Story-line can happen later. His incredible selling qualities could be useful for the opponents as well. Even if he loses to Orton, Zayn or Owens, his character would receive a boost; such is his condition.
#3 Randy Orton
2017 began for the 'Apex Predator' with a Royal Rumble victory and face turn. In addition, he even won the World Heavyweight Championship from Bray Wyatt. It looked as if we were going to see another title run but it was cut short to gather more viewers for WWE Network from India. What followed was a meaningless feud with Rusev and soul-less matches against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
What he requires is forming a heel stable. His experience with The Authority, Evolution, Legacy and The Wyatts can come in handy. An alliance with Sanity, Undisputed Era or Authors of Pain when they make their main roster debut should change his fortunes. He is way past his prime and should act as a mentor in the same way Jericho did for Kevin Owens.
#2 Matt Hardy
The moment when Jeff and Matt Hardy returned at Wrestlemania 33, everyone had only one question in mind- When are they going to transform into their 'Broken' alter ego? Though it had come late, the fans didn't forget their segments in TNA. A lengthy losing streak hinted towards his transformation but when it arrived, it left us disappointed.
A brand change and more television time is the need of the hour for 'Broken Brilliance'. Being on Raw won't be of any help as he would get lost in the shuffle. A 'Woken' story-line without a group is as good as a human being without a spine. An alliance with Bray Wyatt can work till Brother Nero arrives. The seeds were planted at the Royal Rumble, the plant needs to grow now.
#1 Finn Balor
2017 for Finn Balor was nothing less than a roller-coaster ride. The only difference being that there were more downs than ups. It began with meaningless feuds against Elias and Bray Wyatt after his spirited performance in the Fatal-5-Way match. A 'Match of the Year candidate' with AJ Styles was followed by a clean loss to Kane. When he formed an alliance with Gallows and Anderson, it looked like he was being pushed. However, he was buried by none other than John Cena.
Turning heel and using dirty tactics to win matches is the only way going forward for him. The original leader of the Bullet Club has no other option now. As far as his match at WrestleMania is concerned, he should challenge for the Intercontinental Title to set up a classic with The Miz. Vince should understand that Balor is the hottest property in the WWE right now and definitely not Roman Reigns.
