Fans have constantly complained of part-timers occupying top WrestleMania feuds over the years. However, many big names have been absent on the 'Road to Wrestlemania' in 2019. Well, their absence has only hurt the show's viewership. Whether 'hardcore' wrestling fans agree or not, it’s difficult to debate the fact that many ‘casual’ fans only tune-in to watch these part-time stars.
Moreover, WWE has struggled to fill up its TV-time with compelling stories. RAW has especially toiled hard to dish-out 3 hours of quality content every week. So, there has been enough space to have some big stars in meaningful feuds without killing any opportunities of the younger stars.
However, WWE doesn't have too many 'star' options as well, as many big names have moved on in their careers. For example, Chris Jericho has recently signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling. John Cena has been recently concentrating more on his acting career, which keeps him out of WWE’s weekly shows most of the time. The Undertaker simply cannot put on an in-ring masterclass at this stage of his career. Also, it appears as though he is looking for opportunities outside the WWE. And CM Punk will never come back. Who's next?
