Jeff Hardy wanted his United States Championship back from Shinsuke Nakamura, it was captured from him at Extreme Rules. It was almost certain that Nakamura would retain the title by winning clean, or getting disqualified, or by using any dirty trick to keep the title.

The fans were also waiting for Randy Orton to come out and carry the feud between Jeff Hardy and The Viper forward. Shinsuke Nakamura won the match clean after Jeff Hardy's risky move cost him the chance to win the United States Championship.
Orton did make an entrance after the match as Jeff Hardy was laying on the mat. Surprisingly, he turned back and nothing happened. Jeff Hardy and Shinsuke Nakamura have already faced each other twice on SmackDown Live in the last two months.
The whole point of this rematch was Randy Orton getting involved somehow, but it never happened, that was disappointing.
