#1 WWE Championship/Universal Championship Ranks

Just about a year before Morrison decided to leave WWE, the biggest push of his career began. He defeated Sheamus in a Ladder match to become the number one contender to the WWE Championship at the 2010 TLC event, and although he would lose his title match on RAW to former partner The Miz, he still put in a fantastic performance.

A few months down the line, he, along with John Cena, would challenge The Miz again for the WWE Championship in the main event of the 2011 WWE Extreme Rules event. Although it was another loss, Morrison would give the best performance in the match. Morrison has always given main event caliber performances and when he departed WWE, he continued to prove how much of a big player he can be with many more great performances and big title wins in Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling.

Today, John Morrison recently celebrated his 40th birthday. We are long past the day where that would have been considered too old to be WWE Champion. Morrison is at the right age and physical peak to be on that main event level in WWE and even become the WWE or Universal Champion. For this to ever happen, the time is right and the time is now.
