The all-female triad has turned heads on Smackdown. Here are five essential bits of information about the trilogy of terror.

From the Fabulous Freebirds to the Sheepherders and Rip Morgan to the Shield, wrestling has always loved its triad stables.

Three is a magic number in wrestling. A wrestler's shoulders must be pinned to the mat for three seconds. A ref will lift a fallen competitor's arm three times to see if they are truly unconscious. And there are usually three singles belts in any given promotion.

One is nice, twice is better, but three is the magic number for Ruby Riott when she put together her team. Here are five things you need to know about WWE's Riott Squad.

#4. Sarah Logan started her training days after High School ended.

While many teenagers go off to college or start work in industry after college, Sarah Logan headed off to Japan.

Her goal was to learn the wrestling business from one of the most exacting, brutal places to train. Logan's stiff shots and technical acumen are a result of her training in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Unlike other female wrestlers who stumbled into the game after a failed modeling career, Logan always knew she wanted to be a wrestler and achieved her dream through hard work and determination.

#3. Liv Morgan was hired with no training.

Liv Morgan was spotted in a New Jersey gym by a WWE road agent, and was offered a developmental contract despite the fact that she had no formal wrestling training.

However, this is not to say that Liv had never wrestled. She was an avid backyard wrestler and was willing to take powerbombs and piledrivers delivered by her much larger siblings.

Morgan was also a competitive cheer leader, which lends itself to her agile ring style.

#2. Ruby Riott added a second T to her name to avoid copyright infringement.

Once Vince McMahon filed a lawsuit against rival WCW, alleging that Kevin Nash and Scott Hall could not even perform as themselves since they became stars in WWE and were, therefore, his intellectual property.

The lawsuit failed, and led to a slew of wrestlers changing their ring names to their legal names, such as Jim "Warrior" Hellwig, in order to avoid similar lawsuits. The end result of these legal shenanigans was that the WWE is very, very careful about obtaining copyrights for the characters they create.

For whatever reason, they had problems getting the name Ruby Riot copyrighted. Rather than wait for the matter to be settled, they added a second T to her name and copyrighted that instead. With either one or two t's in her name, Ruby is still a force to be reckoned with.

#1.The Idea for Riott Squad came before Absolution.

While Absolution debuted first, it was actually Riott Squad that had been pitched by WWE creative months earlier.

The idea was so good that it was copied for the Raw brand. The difference between the two lies mostly in the vast amount of experience Logan and Riott bring to their stable, whereas Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose are relative newcomers to the sport.

With Paige possibly facing early retirement, Riott Squad looks to be the stable with the stronger future.
