4-time champion to return after four years and confront The Miz at SummerSlam? Exploring the chances

The Miz has a big and important job for SummerSlam. With The Biggest Party of the Summer taking place in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, The Awesome One has been tasked with hosting duties. It's safe to say the 43-year-old is excited, but there could be a lot more in store for him come August 3rd, as he could be confronted by a returning former four-time champion.

The former four-time champion in question is none other than Matt Cardona. Fondly remembered by the WWE Universe as Zack Ryder, Cardona hasn't been seen in WWE for four years. That said, a return could be on the horizon, and he might just do it at SummerSlam, where he may show up against The Miz.

He certainly won't be wrestling, as he is currently injured, but as has been the case in other promotions the last few weeks, he could make an on-screen appearance. As for why he would confront The Miz, well Cardona has never shied away from making fun of The A-Lister, and the latter has even jokingly called him the "biggest bully" on social media.

If that isn't enough of a reason, he also works for TNA and is the general manager at GCW, two companies that WWE has a good working relationship with, making his appearance that much more of a possibility. Then again, this is all just speculation and there is no telling what will go down at SummerSlam.

Recently, he spoke highly of The Game's leadership, but he also revealed what has been the most difficult thing to do under his reign.

In an interview on The Rich Eisen Show, Miz explained just how talented the roster is right now. With more and more superstars coming in, he believes the WWE is at the best level he has ever seen. However, this has led to an increase in competition, making it more difficult for superstars to earn a spot on the match card of PLEs.

With the current level of the WWE roster, booking has become a difficult task for Triple H and the creative team. All one has to do is look at the stacked SummerSlam card for example. That said, while it does make things difficult, it also shows just how good the current roster is, and that can only be good for business.
