4-time WWE Women’s Champion to return as babyface and help IYO SKY dethrone Liv Morgan? Exploring the potential

WWE Superstar Liv Morgan will soon be defending her Women’s World Championship against IYO SKY. The Damage CTRL member earned the title shot after winning a 15-woman Battle Royal on RAW a few weeks ago. As the Judgement Day member prepares to defend her belt, Asuka may make a babyface return to dethrone Morgan.

The four-time WWE Women’s Champion is pivotal to The Damage CTRL. She was last seen on the Stamford-based promotion at the Backlash premium live event in May 2024. Asuka and her teammate Kairi Sane dropped the women’s tag titles to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill in that match in France.

Asuka later had to forfeit the Queen of the Ring tournament because of a knee injury, for which she received surgery in June. In her absence, IYO SKY has tried to bring Damage CTRL back to prominence and has now earned a shot at Liv Morgan’s title.

Needless to say, Morgan will have Raquel Rodriguez and Dominik Mysterio to help her retain her title. On the other hand, SKY will have Kairi Sane and the recently returned Dakota Kai to ensure no foul play occurs. However, if Asuka joins the fight, then The Genius of the Sky will win a world title once again.

Since her faction has turned babyface, the four-time WWE Women’s Champion will also make a face turn if she returns. Despite a fair possibility of this happening on Saturday Night’s Main Event, all of this is speculation.

Liv Morgan could injure IYO SKY

Liv Morgan and The Judgment Day are inarguably WWE’s top heel acts. Since the addition of Raquel Rodriguez to the faction, the Women’s Crown Jewel Champion has turned violent. Morgan and Raquel had injured Rhea Ripley by attacking her in the parking lot during an NXT episode in October.

Ripley came back ahead of Survivor Series and fought the WarGames match with a protective face mask on. This week on RAW, however, Rodriguez slammed Mami’s face into the corner of the announcers’ table, hurting her in the same injured eye socket. As The Eradicator grabbed her face in pain, Liv Morgan was seen laughing at her misery.

Thus, there is a high chance that IYO SKY could also be injured viciously by the Women’s World Champion. Morgan already harbors resentment about losing the WarGames match against SKY's team.

Hence, if Asuka chooses to return, she can save The Genius of The Sky from getting injured. It would be interesting to see if she comes back on RAW.
