#2 He said the world must burn to be rebuilt in his image

In May 2014, Bray Wyatt was involved in one of the most interesting WWE feuds of the year with John Cena. During their back-and-forth promos, Wyatt agreed with his rival's assessment that he is a “monster” and that he wishes “to watch the world burn”.

Interestingly, after addressing the second point, the former Wyatt Family leader expanded further by explaining that, in his eyes, the world must be burned down so that it can be reborn “in the image of Wyatt”.

“John Cena tells all of you that I am a monster, and he is right. I am a monster, and oh how cruel I can be. He would also have you believe that my message, my honourable message, is nothing but lies and that I only wish to watch the world burn. I have to give it to you, John, you’re right again. I do wish to watch this world burn. I wish to watch it burn as a farmer watches his spoiled crops burn so they may rise up again. This world must be burned down so that it can be reborn. And it will be reborn in my image, the image of Wyatt.”

Three years on from this promo, Wyatt’s world did indeed burn down when Randy Orton set fire to the Wyatt Family Compound, including Sister Abigail’s grave, and Wyatt’s image has since been reborn following his return in the “Firefly Fun House” segment on Raw.
