Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins walked in the UK as the reigning RAW tag team champs in 2017 but lost their titles before the night ended thanks to a surprise interference by the New Day. The distraction allowed Cesaro and Sheamus to steal the titles as this led to a match between the S.H.I.E.L.D and the New Day at Survivor Series 2017.

The story was different in 2018 as Seth Rollins had been betrayed by Dean Ambrose after the duo won the tag titles. The Kingslayer alone defended the titles against the AOP and Akam and Rezar defeated him to win the tag titles. Ambrose came out after the match to execute a beatdown on his former S.H.I.E.L.D brother.
