WWE Money in the Bank is the 10th premium live event across all three brands in 2024. It is scheduled to air from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on July 6th, 2024.
The match card has almost taken shape, with five matches already announced. The company has yet to announce the sixth superstar for the men's and women's ladder match, and possibly two to three more matches since the event usually has seven to eight bouts.
Since it's a WWE premium live event, fans should prepare themselves for the unexpected. Unfortunately, the unexpected might come in the form of disheartening results for the WWE Universe.
Here are four situations that can upset fans at WWE Money in the Bank 2024.
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
#4. Sami Zayn loses in Canada
Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn was born in Laval, Canada. He will perform in front of the Canadian crowd for the second time since dethroning Gunther at WrestleMania XL. Of course, Toronto will welcome Zayn as a hero and will want to see him defeat the ruthless Bron Breakker and retain the championship.
However, WWE can twist the script and use Money in the Bank to put Bron Breakker over as the new Intercontinental Champion. While it will be just the push Bron Breakker needs to establish himself as the next 'Big Thing' in WWE, losing the Intercontinental Championship at Scotiabank Arena will be twice the blow for Sami Zayn.
#3. Jey Uso fails to win the Money in the Bank briefcase
So far, WWE has confirmed Jey Uso, Andrade, Carmelo Hayes, Chad Gable, and LA Knight for the men's ladder match. The promotion is yet to confirm one more superstar prior to the event.
This is Jey Uso's first Money in the Bank ladder match. He was the first one to lay claim to the briefcase. Currently, the hype he has with fans is one of the most admirable elements in WWE. The connection Main Event Jey has with the fans is truly electrifying, and the WWE Universe wants him to win the briefcase.
Unfortunately, Jey Uso might not be able to grab the briefcase this time, especially with the possibility of him reuniting with Roman Reigns and getting involved in The Bloodline Saga again. He might come really close to grabbing the briefcase, only to have it snatched at the last second.
#2. Damian Priest loses the World Heavyweight Championship
The Archer of Infamy's challenger at Money in the Bank is former World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. While The Visionary did great during his run with the title, it is Damian Priest's time right now!
Interestingly, the stipulation for the title match is if Rollins wins, Priest leaves The Judgment Day, and if Priest wins, Rollins doesn't challenge for the championship again while Priest is champion. This gives Liv Morgan the motivation to interfere in the title match and ensure The Visionary walks away with the championship.
Damian Priest losing the World Heavyweight Championship and leaving The Judgment Day will not sit well with a huge chunk of the WWE Universe. He does deserve to have a longer and much more impactful run as a fighting champion.
#1. The Bloodline squashes Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes
Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa will take on Randy Orton, Kevin Owens, and Cody Rhodes in a six-man tag team match at Money in the Bank 2024. While many are assuming the heels will win the show, it is expected that the babyfaces will put up a challenging and difficult fight.
If The Bloodline squashes Orton, Owens, and Rhodes, it will be a blow for the fans since they are hoping that Solo Sikoa's Bloodline suffers the defeat. Sikoa is already on the fans' radar for replacing Roman Reigns and attacking Paul Heyman, so watching him win at Money in the Bank will be a bitter pill to swallow.
