WWE Superstar Braun Strowman has had a turbulent start to 2025. The Monster of All Monsters recently developed a health condition that has affected his body.
Strowman did not appear on the first SmackDown of 2025 after being laid out by Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline. The former Universal Champion also missed RAW’s Netflix premiere and is set to miss the upcoming episode of SmackDown.
Taking to social media, Strowman revealed that he had a bad flu, which kept him bedridden for four days. During that time, he lost significant weight and could take some time to recover.
Let’s examine four ways Braun Strowman can return to WWE while remaining the best for The Monster of All Monsters.

#4. The Bloodline could continue their storyline on SmackDown
Solo Sikoa lost in the Tribal Combat on RAW’s Netflix premiere. His future remains unclear after he was dethroned as The Tribal Chief.
WWE could keep Sikoa and his men relevant on SmackDown by giving them some notable rivalries. They have already been attacking Sami Zayn and The Usos, and Strowman was their latest victim on the final edition of SmackDown in 2024.
The heels could get back in a rivalry with The Monster of All Monsters once he recovers from his illness. Braun Strowman could team up with Sami Zayn or The Usos to hurt Sikoa and his Bloodline even more on the blue brand.
#3. Carmelo Hayes could get his hands dirty again
Carmelo Hayes has been in a rivalry with Braun Strowman for quite some time. The two men have had a few matches that have seen both men score wins.
The Monster of All Monsters was chasing Hayes when he ran into Solo Sikoa and his Bloodline. He could return to get back in his rivalry with Melo, especially if Sikoa and his team fade away.
The former Universal Champion must remain a top name of SmackDown, especially since the show has changed to a three-hour format. That could see him continue his rivalry with the former NXT Champion so that both remain relevant for some time.
#2. Shinsuke Nakamura's next opponent
Shinsuke Nakamura won the United States Championship from LA Knight. Unlike most other heels, he seems adamant about continuing his rivalry with the former champion.
The Artist will be looking for more top stars to take out in his quest to extend his title reign and make it memorable. That could see him run into a returning Braun Strowman.
Strowman has been out of title feuds for a while, and it would be good to see him return to get back into one. He could challenge the heel for the title, and the two stars could have their first match as early as the Royal Rumble.
#1. Braun Strowman could make a surprise return at the 2025 Royal Rumble
WWE could give Braun Strowman more time to recover while keeping him in the loop for the 2025 Royal Rumble. He has always received a big pop in the match as he has a history of eliminating several superstars.
Braun Strowman could recover from his illness and participate in the 30-man Rumble this year. He could eliminate some top names, including Carmelo Hayes and Solo Sikoa, to make a mark and continue one of their rivalries.
The Royal Rumble could be the perfect platform for the big man’s return. It would give him some rest while increasing the number of surprises in the contest.
