Cody Rhodes' title reign is in jeopardy as he must defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 on December 14. The former pals have been feuding for a while now, since KO turned his back on The American Nightmare, launching an attack on the champion in the parking lot.
The former Universal Champion has already explained his stance on why he snapped at Rhodes, argued that he was not the villain here, and how Rhodes has backstabbed him by teaming up with Roman Reigns, a guy who had made Owens' life hell for years. However, the wrestling world is against The Prizefighter due to his recent actions, including attacking Randy Orton with the banned Piledriver.
The upcoming edition of SmackDown will unfold the next chapter in Owens and Rhodes' build-up to the title bout at Saturday Night's Main Event.
Let's look at four ways Kevin Owens could continue his outburst this week.
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
#4. Kevin Owens could punish Cody Rhodes' fans in the crowd and cross another limit
During an interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Kevin Owens was asked about three things he hated about Cody Rhodes, one of which he pointed out was The American Nightmare's signature bleached hair.
Owens expressed that Rhodes' hair color was not authentic and pointed out how parents bleach their kids' hair just to get Cody's attention and the negative impact it had on children's health. In a shocking twist, this week on the blue brand, The Prizefighter could cross limits by targeting a random fan from the crowd with similar hair and American Nightmare-themed attire and shaving the fan's hair.
#3. KO could punish another legend on SmackDown
En route to his clash with Cody Rhodes, Kevin Owens took out Randy Orton, who was trying to settle the animosity between the mutual friends. However, The Prizefighter, in his wrath, crossed the line and injured Orton with the banned Piledriver, resulting in The Viper being sidelined indefinitely with neck injuries.
This week on SmackDown, another WWE veteran could find himself in trouble as Owens might deliver another Piledriver and punish him for his supposed actions. Michael Cole, the iconic voice of the Stamford-based promotion had an interview with The Prizefighter last week that did not go well. As a consequence, Owens could attack the veteran, which would further anger Rhodes.
#2. Kevin Owens could steal Cody Rhodes's title
This Friday, Kevin Owens could swipe Cody Rhodes's Undisputed WWE Championship and leave the arena. He could go on to say that if they weren't friends during their first encounter at Bash in Berlin 2024, he would have powerbombed him on the apron and won the title that very night.
However, he chose friendship over a monumental win, unlike Rhodes, who decided to team up with Roman Reigns despite knowing the longstanding animosity between him and Kevin Owens. With that being said, KO could claim the title belongs to him, and for similar reasons, he has taken his championship with him and would bring it directly to Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 on December 14.
#1. Nick Aldis could cancel Cody vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens could get into a heated argument with SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis, and amid his anger issues, KO could lose his temper and snap at him, crossing the line.
Following KO's inappropriate conduct, Nick Aldis might cancel the much-anticipated match between Kevin and Cody at Saturday Night's Main Event 2024 or even suspend The Prizefighter for his problematic behavior.
