WWE Survivor Series 2019 was a massive night for NXT. The black and yellow brand shocked the WWE Universe by winning survivor series with 4 wins, while SmackDown picked up 2 and RAW picked up the solitary win. Survivor Series was NXT's arrival in the big time and in some ways and was a great night for the brand following their first win over All Elite Wrestling in the ratings war. The win at Survivor Series could also spell some changes for NXT.

What could the biggest night in NXT's history mean for the future of the black and yellow brand? One thing is for sure, no one can claim it's a developmental brand anymore. Also, we take a look and see if NXT's rating battle with AEW could affect the show in a way as well as a whole lot more.

#4 NXT officially confirmed as the third brand

NXT is basically the third brand at this point and are no longer developmental
NXT is basically the third brand at this point and are no longer developmental

Survivor Series saw NXT announce their arrival on prime time, with an incredibly impressive showing. It confirmed something that many longtime WWE fans already knew, the black and yellow brand is no longer developmental. With NXT on television now, it was more important than ever for WWE to get this across to casual fans.

One part of this process would be for WWE to come out and officially acknowledge NXT as the third brand. A lot of fans got their first proper look at what NXT has to offer at Survivor Series and if WWE play their cards right, this could lead to a lot more fans tuning into NXT on Wednesday nights.

#3 More NXT title defenses on main roster PPV's

Unlike PPV's on the main roster, NXT TakeOver's take place only once every 2 to 3 months instead of once a month. With NXT now on the USA Network, going head to head with All Elite Wrestling, WWE can use the main roster PPV's as a way to boost exposure in a similar way to how they've done it at Survivor Series.

The Survivor Series PPV saw Adam Cole defending the NXT Championship against Pete Dunne in one of the best matches of the night. Cole and Dunne tore the house down, despite both men also having competed at TakeOver the previous night.

WWE could look at the reception the NXT Championship match got and occasionally put NXT title defences on main roster PPV's. It would be a great way to continue brand exposure for NXT. The more fans who get their eyes on the product mean more tune in on Wednesday nights. NXT has been producing fantastic television all year long, and it doesn't look like they'll be stopping anytime soon.

#2 NXT made an annual fixture at Survivor Series

Will NXT be made a permanent fixture in the Survivor Series PPV?

If you look at it objectively, WWE Survivor Series 2019 would have been nowhere as good if NXT wasn't involved, The black and gold brand made a splash on their Survivor Seres debut and definitely proved that they belonged. As we mentioned in this article already, NXT being on USA Network now changes the dynamic for the brand and it's defnitely no longer just developmental. They way NXT stars were booked at Survivor Series also proves that.

With NXT now basically the third brand in WWE, it could be time for WWE to make the brand an official part of thhe Survivor Series PPV every year. WWE could make the Survvior Series PPV the only time of the year we see NXT stars square off against RAW and SmackDown Superstars, keeping it a special attraction. The most important thing WWE has to do during all this is to make sure that the NXT product doesn't get diluted and doesn't become more like RAW and SmackDown.

#1 More special appearances by RAW and SmackDown Superstars on NXT television

Could we see more special appearances by main roster stars on NXT?
Could we see more special appearances by main roster stars on NXT?

In the week's the NXT and AEW Dynamite have gone head to head, NXT has only once so far in the ratings despite putting on a great show every week. The only week which NXT won was the go-home show ahead of Survivor Series where we knew that RAW and SmackDown would invade Full Sail. Occasional special appearances by main roster stars could work but it has to be done right. The concern here is that those in charge may decide to put more RAW and SmackDown stars on NXT occasionally which, if not done right, could change what NXT is.

If WWE limit appearances by main roster stars to be a rare and special attraction though, it could work out well for NXT, bringing in more casual fans who mainly watch only RAW and SmackDown. This would help WWE in the ratings battle against AEW but if not done right, could have a long term negative impact.
