#3 John Cena vs Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship - WrestleMania 34
While Jinder Mahal winning the WWE Championship definitely felt like a shocking move from Vince McMahon, his subsequent WrestleMania 34 plan had me stunned to the core. The former WWE Champion was apparently locked in to clash against John Cena at the Grandest Stage of Them All in New Orleans, and that too, for the most coveted prize in sports entertainment.
Ever since Mahal outshined Randy Orton at Backlash 2017, the then WWE Champion gravitated nuclear heat from legions of WWE fans, and while the idea looked convincing on the paper, the execution was pretty poor.
Considering that Mahal's credibility began to drop so frequently on a weekly basis, Vince decided to ascend AJ Styles again as the WWE Champion and dropped the entire 'American' angle with John Cena.
The Cenation Leader went on to participate in a Mixed Tag Team Match by joining forces with Nikki Bella to face The Miz and Maryse, while Jinder found his way into the United States Championship feud which he eventually won in New Orleans.
While Cena vs Mahal for the WWE Championship could have been believable at that time, but booking this as a potential show headliner definitely felt outright stupid.
