4 WrestleMania 35 matches the WWE can set up at Fastlane 

This coming Sunday night at Fastlane, the WWE takes their final major stop on the road to WrestleMania 35.

After giving us several major hints at Elimination Chamber, Sunday's show will probably provide us with plenty of clues as to what matches we are likely to be seeing when WrestleMania arrives in New Jersey on April 7.

Fastlane itself has a pretty stacked card, and there are plenty of potential twists and turns we could see at the event.

The company will likely use the show as an opportunity to establish the last of their major WrestleMania feuds. With that in mind, let's take a look at four WrestleMania matches we could see set up at Fastlane this Sunday night.

#4 Lacey Evans vs Asuka

Asuka will defend her title against Mandy Rose at Fastlane

Whether fans like it or not, it looks as though the WWE intends on going ahead with a match between Asuka and Lacey Evans for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania 35.

Evans may be fairly green between the ropes, but WWE management are seemingly quite high on her right now, and her new routine of just walking out to the ring to cause distractions looks to be the driving force for her upcoming feud with Asuka.

At Fastlane, Asuka will put her title on the line against Mandy Rose, another of the WWE's hot young rising female superstars.

While Rose will no doubt put on a good performance, it seems unlikely that she will pick up the victory against her more experienced opponent.

Following the match, Lacey Evans should make her way down to the ring to confront Asuka. Remaining silent, Evans can simply point at the WrestleMania sign, establishing her intentions for the event, and providing us with one of the most random matches on this year's WrestleMania card.

#3 Shane McMahon vs The Miz

Things are likely to come to a head between Shane McMahon and The Miz on Sunday night

Since Crown Jewel, it has been incredibly apparent that the end game for Shane McMahon and The Miz is going to be a showdown at WrestleMania 35, and the duo look set to finally implode at this Sunday's Fastlane event.

After losing the SmackDown Tag Team Championships to The Usos at The Royal Rumble, The Miz's character has shown plenty of signs of snapping, and that will all likely come to a head at Fastlane.

The match is likely to involve some sort of miscommunication for the finish, and that, in turn, will lead to some sort of post-match attack, most likely from The Miz on McMahon.

#2 Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan vs Kevin Owens

Kofi Kingston seems destined for a WrestleMania showdown with Bryan

Kofi Kingston is riding a huge wave of popularity on SmackDown Live right now, and the WWE would be foolish to not cash in on that come WrestleMania 35.

Last week, WWE made the decision to take Kofi Kingston out of his scheduled match with Daniel Bryan at Fastlane and replace him with Kevin Owens. The logic behind that decision, presumably, was to build more sympathy for Kingston and to help build him up towards a big WrestleMania showdown.

The original plan, reportedly, for WrestleMania 35 was to have Kevin Owens take on Daniel Bryan, and while that could still end up being the match, it makes sense to add Kingston to the bout by having him somehow get involved in Sunday's showdown between Owens and Bryan.

#1 Roman Reigns vs Dean Ambrose

Could we see another Shield split on Sunday night?

Would booking Dean Ambrose to turn on The Shield once again at Fastlane be a lazy move creatively? Sure, but it would also set up a potentially mouth-watering clash between Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, giving the former a big send-off match, and the latter a big feel-good victory on the grandest stage of them all.

The two men have a long and well-documented history together, but despite that, they have only once fought each other on PPV, all the way back at Survivor Series 2015, with Reigns coming out on top.

Of course, the WWE could be extra brave and have Reigns turn on Ambrose as an act of revenge for Ambrose betraying Rollins back in October.

Either way, the WWE should definitely pull the trigger on this match-up, and plant the seeds for it on Sunday night.
