WWE's next show in Saudi Arabia, which is being called Super ShowDown, will take place on June 7.The current Universal Champion Seth Rollins will defend his title against new number one contender Baron Corbin, who earned the shot by winning a fatal four way match on this past Monday's edition of Raw.
Originally the match was supposed to be Rollins defending the Universal Championship against AJ Styles, but as was revealed during Monday's show, Styles is going to be out of action for the foreseeable future due to a back injury.
Of course, there is a good chance that Brock Lesnar, who is currently holding the Money in the Bank contract, will cash in on Rollins either during or after his championship match with Corbin. So even if the ex-Shield member defeats Corbin, which he most likely will, he might not be walking out of Super ShowDown as the Universal Champ.
But, if Rollins is able to keep the title, here are a few of Raw's top stars who could be next in line for a shot at his big red belt.
#4 Bray Wyatt
Over the last few weeks, Bray Wyatt has been doing his Firefly Fun House segments, but he hasn't yet debuted the new look and gimmick in front of a live crowd, and as of right now at least. we don't know when he'll do so.
Perhaps the perfect time to debut and make the biggest impact possible will be after WWE's next show in Saudi Arabia, where they could book Wyatt to target Seth Rollins and the Universal Championship.
It's been quite a while since we've seen the Bray Wyatt character do anything significant, so WWE needs to bring him back in a big way, and the biggest possible way to bring him back would be to challenge for the red brand's top title.
#3 Brock Lesnar
Obviously Brock Lesnar has to cash in his Money in the Bank contract at some point, but we don't really know exactly when that will be. During Monday's Raw, the storyline was that Lesnar didn't know that he had an entire year to cash in his MITB contract, and because of that, his cash in could be held off until a big event like SummerSlam.
But there is a chance that WWE gives Lesnar the next shot at the Universal Championship, but in a way where he doesn't have to cash in. Instead, he could be booked to lose the title match with Rollins, then after the match, he goes into a rage, destroys Rollins, and then decides to cash in and win the title after his loss.
So, don't be surprised if you see Brock Lesnar get the next shot at Rollins after the Super ShowDown card concludes.
#2 AJ Styles
Depending on whether or not his injury will require him to be out of action for an extended period of time, AJ Styles could be next in line for a shot at Seth Rollins' WWE Universal Championship. Judging from this past Monday's show, where Baron Corbin attacked AJ Styles, it's very likely that WWE will book a number one contender's match between Corbin and Styles at some point in the very near future.
Of the possible opponents for Rollins after next week's Super ShowDown, Styles is clearly the best choice, but it might not be in the cards if his health isn't up to snuff. Of course, we're all hoping that this is a short-term injury that will only keep Styles out of action for a few weeks.
As we've all seen, Rollins and Styles are more than capable of having a fantastic match with one another, and one would assume that the quality of their matches will only get better the more times they're able to work against each other.
#1 Baron Corbin
This is, without a doubt, the least popular choice. Sadly however, unless Brock Lesnar successfully cashes in his Money in the Bank contract at Super ShowDown, Baron Corbin will probably get yet another shot at Raw's top title.
WWE's next pay per view event after the show in Saudi Arabia will take place on June 23, which is just a little over two weeks after Super ShowDown. So, clearly WWE doesn't have a lot of time to put together their next show, which means that they'll more than likely do a lot of rematches, especially at the top of the card.
If Rollins is still the Universal Champion, he'd clearly be booked to defeat Corbin, so while the prospect of another match between the two won't excite many people, at least it'll lead to another win for the current Universal Champ. Or, maybe that'll be the show where Lesnar interrupts, cashes in, and wins Raw's top title.
