#3 Shawn Michaels becomes JBL's servant

This dumpster fire of a storyline came at the tail-end of 2008. Shawn Michaels had just come off his incredible storyline with Chris Jericho, and JBL really had nothing going for him at the time.

It began when Shawn announced that he had lost all of his life savings during the global financial crisis and was now broke. He needed a job and JBL offered him one because he was rich. Shawn had to take the job and was forced to do JBL's dirty work.

This ridiculous angle lasted a few months until No Way Out 2009 when Shawn defeated JBL and JBL had to pay Shawn what he owed him. This somehow fixed Shawn's money problems and everything went back to normal.

This whole storyline was weird. Maybe the WWE were trying to appeal to those who were going through a hard time after the financial crisis, but the idea that Shawn needed a job while being employed by a wrestling company was silly. Even for a wrestling storyline, this was a bit of a stretch.
