The Undisputed WWE Championship is the top prize in all of pro wrestling. While just about every wrestling company has titles of varying prestige, this particular belt is the most notable in the biggest wrestling company in the world.
The reigning champion is Cody Rhodes. The American Nightmare won the prestigious title at WrestleMania 40 when he defeated Roman Reigns in the main event. This ended a reign of well over 1,000 days as champion by the latter.
Since capturing the world title, Cody has defended his belt three times. He first retained the gold against AJ Styles and then did so again against Logan Paul. His most recent title defense came by once again defeating Styles, this time in an I Quit Match.
All champions must lose their titles eventually, however, and Cody Rhodes is no exception. The American Nightmare will surely be dethroned sooner or later. This article will take a look at a handful of stars who could end up being the one to take the world title out of Rhodes' hands.

Below are four WWE Superstars who can end Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed Championship reign.
#4. Roman Reigns could return to take the belt back
Roman Reigns is one of the biggest names in pro wrestling today and has been for much of the last decade. He can also lay claim to being the longest reigning WWE Champion since the 1980's.
The Tribal Chief hasn't been seen since since WrestleMania 40, however. On WrestleMania XL Sunday, The Head of the Table lost to Cody Rhodes and thus his record title reign came to an end. Roman has been absent ever since.
If anybody wants to dethrone The American Nightmare, it is Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief's only major title loss this decade coming from Cody must be avenged. As a result, it could be The Big Dog who takes the belt back from Rhodes upon his return to television.
#3. LA Knight could cash in if he wins the Money in the Bank Ladder Match
LA Knight is an insanely popular WWE star who's connection with the audience came organically. Despite initially being billed as Max Dupri, fans quickly got behind Knight once he switched back to his current persona and he exploded in popularity from there.
The Megastar is set to be involved in the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match. He will compete alongside Carmelo Hayes, Drew McIntyre, Andrade, Chad Gable, and Jey Uso. While the field is stacked, Knight could end up winning the match.
If Knight is the one who wins the briefcase, he could potentially cash it in on Cody Rhodes to win the world title. The Megastar wants the gold and this could be the fastest and most effective way he wins the belt for the first time ever.
#2. The Viper could win the Undisputed WWE Championship
Randy Orton is a legend. He is a 14-time world champion in WWE who will surely go on to become a Hall of Famer by the time he retires. Some feared he'd be retiring soon thanks to a serious back injury, but thankfully Orton is back and arguably better than ever.
The Viper is currently allied with Cody Rhodes in a battle against The Bloodline. The two men will team up with Kevin Owens to take on three members of the dangerous faction at WWE Money in the Bank.
Despite that, a heel turn has seemingly been teased and many believe Cody and Randy are set to clash sooner or later. If Orton does turn on Rhodes, or at least challenges his former mentee, a title change is certainly possible. The RKO could spell the end of The American Nightmare's championship reign.
#1. The Rock wants the gold
The Rock is back in WWE. He made his return earlier this year. While things seemingly didn't quite go as he expected, The Rock turned heel, joined The Bloodline, and co-headlined the biggest and most exciting WrestleMania ever.
The People's Champion last appeared on WWE television during the RAW after WrestleMania. It was on that show that he and Cody Rhodes had a face-to-face confrontation. The future Hall of Famer noted he was stepping away for awhile, but he'd be back and he's gunning for Rhodes.
Supposing that The Rock stays true to his words, he could very well be the one to dethrone The American Nightmare. We've seen him pin Cody at WrestleMania Saturday and even leave Rhodes bloodied. The Rock taking the gold from the son of the Son of a Plumber could truly stick it to Rhodes.
