Since James Ellsworth was fired from WWE on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, Carmella’s sidekick has posted an out-of-character ‘goodbye’ message on social media, seemingly confirming that his time with the company really is over.
But, wrestling being wrestling, you just never know if and when he’ll show up next, and there’s even a school of thought that he could be off television for the next few weeks before returning at SummerSlam to help Carmella in her title match against Becky Lynch.
Would fans react well to that? Absolutely not, but maybe the plan could backfire and Ellsworth could end up inadvertently costing Carmella, just like Aiden English recently with Rusev, and Becky could walk out as champion.
