42-year-old superstar to attack and replace IYO SKY next week on WWE RAW? Exploring the chances

IYO SKY is set to compete in the semi-finals of the Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament next week on WWE RAW. However, one superstar might ensure that this doesn't happen.

Last week on WWE RAW, Kairi Sane was attacked backstage by Pure Fusion Collective. As a result, she couldn't compete in this week's Women's Intercontinental Championship tournament and was replaced by IYO SKY instead. The Damage CTRL member is scheduled to go against Lyra Valkyria next week to determine who will advance to the finals. However, Natalya might get involved and take the spot for herself.

Before SKY competes next week on WWE RAW, she could be attacked backstage just like Sane was last week. The blame can be automatically placed on Pure Fusion Collective, who would deny these claims. With a free spot in the tournament, Adam Peace could ask Natalya to fill the space instead.

Natalya hasn't been involved much on WWE RAW recently and hasn't won a championship in a while, though she did express her desire to go for the gold again.

Due to her frustration and failure to advance in the tournament, she can attack SKY to take her spot and be closer to becoming the inaugural Women's Intercontinental Champion. It should also be noted that it was Nattie that IYO pinned this week.

While on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Legion of RAW, Vince Russo questioned the push IYO has received on Monday Night RAW. He added that Natalya should have won to make it seem like her last shot and make people believe she would win the entire thing.

"They have given IYO SKY so much. When you look at this match, it tells you literally Natalya is yesterday’s news because you’ve given IYO SKY so much, why wouldn’t you have made this about maybe Natalya’s last shot and make people believe Natalya was going to win? Why wouldn’t you go there? Nope, we’re gonna put SKY over again like we have put her over a billion times."
