With the Elimination Chamber being the next stop on the Road To Wrestlemania we take a look at 5 swerves the WWE could pull off.
#5 Matt Hardy's 'Broken Family' debut
Matt Hardy's current run with his 'Woken' gimmick has been underwhelming, to say the least.
His mannerisms and in-ring performances have been fine but it just feels like something is missing. The thing that really got this over in TNA was the wacky videos from the compound and cameos from his family members.
Perhaps Matt will continue to suffer losses to Bray Wyatt until at the Elimination Chamber, where he gets an assist from Senor Benjamin or even better, Brother Nero, which will finally allow him to delete Wyatt and give fans a double turn in the process.
This will be great for Wyatt as well because his evil 'Sister Abigail' can be deleted and he can return with a baby face gimmick which might actually really work for him.
#4 Titus Worldwide win the Raw Tag Team Championships
Now please remember these are audacious predictions.
Titus Worldwide proved in their Tag title match on Raw that they can hang with The Bar and put on a competitive contest. Also, Apollo Crews has so much potential that it hurts to see him wallow away in such a pointless role.
It has been teased on Raw recently that Titus Worldwide may be able to eventually get one over on The Bar and that their moment could be coming soon.
Although they do not seem likely champs heading into WrestleMania, I do suspect that the Raw tag titles may be kept off the card this year. The only reason for this is that the SmackDown Tag Titles did not get a match at last years' WrestleMania and the Usos really deserve one this year. Perhaps it will be the turn of the Raw Tag Titles to have a seat on the bench at the Grandest Stage of Them All.
#3 Finn Balor enters the chamber
It is safe to say a lot of fans were upset that Finn lost to John Cena and missed out on a spot in the chamber.
It seems though that after such a good performance that all hope may not be lost.
There are still 3 slots to fill and it seems unlikely that someone of Finn's calibre will be left out of the match, especially after being the 'Iron Man' of the Royal Rumble.
Perhaps creative will book a multi-man 'second chance' match where Balor will come out on top and still scrape his way into a pod for a chance at a WrestleMania main event!
#2 Someone other than Roman Reigns wins the Elimination Chamber match
Now, this has to be the most audacious of them all.
It has been pretty much set in stone that Reigns will be facing Lesnar in a WrestleMania rematch at this year's event. With a title shot on the line, it seems extremely likely that this is the route he takes to get there.
One thing to remember is the WWE has changed 'Mania plans at the last minute before and might not be against doing it again.
A big story that has been built is the threat of Braun Strowman and it would not be that shocking if these two headline Mania one on one. Strowman does seem to be one of the WWE chosen ones much like Reigns so it's not impossible to imagine.
#1 Cena turns heel
This is something the WWE universe has waited to see for years.
On Raw against Balor, Cena displayed a real frustration and was also mocking the fans by throwing up a 'Too Sweet' gesture before an AA.
Also, he kept saying to the crowd 'I'm just trying to get to WrestleMania'
Is this a sign that Cena is growing so desperate that he might do whatever it takes to get him there. Even if that means going into full heel mode and using underhand tactics to do so.
After showing signs of not being very fond of the 'New School' now could be the perfect time to finally switch him to a 'Hollywood' heel role where he does whatever it takes to stay relevant.
