5 B+ WWE Superstars who deserve a championship reign

At WrestleMania 35, there is no doubt that WWE gave fans what they wanted.

Opening the show with Seth Rollins capturing gold, and closing with Becky Lynch making history, perhaps the most emotional win was Kofi Kingston's WWE Title victory, after years of being seen as a B+ player.

A scathing backhanded compliment that essentially means you'll never make it in the main event, the WWE has no shortage of Superstars who despite vocal fans, are seen as B+ players.

But Kingston's shocking victory has given hope to many Superstars, and many fans who now believe that anything is possible in WWE.

There's plenty of stars who deserve a push to championship gold, but some have stuck out more than others.

Here are five 'B+' WWE Superstars, who deserve more than they have been given.

#5 Rusev

Rusev's career in WWE has been an anomaly.

Debuting the night after WrestleMania 30, the Bulgarian Brute demolished everyone in his way, until his undefeated streak, and United States Championship reign ended at the hands of John Cena at Mania 31.

Since then, Rusev's pushes have been stop-start, as he sometimes gets a big push for title gold, only to be halted at the last minute.

Look at his most recent reign as evidence, capturing the star-spangled strap in December last year, only to lose it the next month.

With a unique look, great promo skills and in-ring ability, it baffles many fans why the Super Athlete hasn't been given a WWE Title reign already.

A fixture of the mid-card, hopefully, the Bulgarian and wife, Lana, will be able to burst onto the main event in 2019.

#4 Sami Zayn

If there's one thing I thought I'd never see in early 2017, it was Sami Zayn as a heel.

The notion seemed ridiculous, as the Canadian's lovable attitude and incredible offense made him one of the most natural babyfaces around.

And yet, in 2017, Zayn succumbed to the dark side and is now a fantastic heel.

Able to work as both face and heel, it's a crime that the Underdog from the Underground has yet to hold gold on the main roster, and his only title reign in WWE (the NXT Championship) is now a distant memory.

Now back after a lengthy injury, hopefully, Zayn will be able to return to prominence once again.

The Superstar Shake-up next week could definitely help him, as a move back to SmackDown could see him square off with WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston.

#3 Tyler Breeze

Breeze is seen by many as one of the biggest NXT flops on the main roster

When NXT Superstars are called up to the main roster, they are often hit or misses, and I can't think of any developmental star who has fallen further out of NXT than Tyler Breeze.

A capable hand in the ring and with a fun gimmick, Breeze could have been a great mid-carder, but instead has been vastly under-utilized on SmackDown Live and RAW.

His greatest accomplishment on the main show is probably his teaming with Fandango, though that too scored him very little wins.

I'm not saying Breeze should be the next WWE or Universal Champion, but after over nine years with the company, something, anything would be nice.

Have him capture the US or IC titles at some point soon, or Prince Pretty could become the next WWE star to jump ship to AEW.

#2 EC3

Much like Breeze, EC3 has a lot going for him.

He's great on the mic, a highly talented individual in the ring, and certainly has the look of a champion.

And yet, since returning to WWE not too long ago, the former Derrick Bateman has struggled to make an impact on RAW or SmackDown Live.

Since being called up in December last year, EC3 has failed to impress, though who can blame him when you consider that he has had little to no matches.

Many fans have been left baffled by this, with many speculating that this bad booking is simply because EC3 became a much bigger star in Impact Wrestling, after his first release from the company.

I hope that WWE isn't that petty and EC3 will get to show why he was one of the opposition's top stars for so long.

#1 Cesaro

Fans have rallied for a main-event push for Cesaro for years, but to no avail

Man, what can be said about Cesaro?

Ad

A great look, great offense, and superhuman strength, the former United States and Tag Team Champion truly lives up to the moniker - the Swiss Superman.

And though fans have gotten behind a Cesaro push for years, nothing has materialized, as the Swiss star has spent the past few years teaming with Sheamus, in what has been an incredible team.

Now 38-years-old, it seems time is running out on a WWE Championship push for Cesaro, as over a decade in the industry must have taken a toll on him.

And with Vince McMahon openly stating on the Stone Cold podcast that he doesn't think Cesaro is what the company is looking for, it seems that a main-event push for the Swiss Cyborg is something that frankly should happen, but won't.
