#2 Rey Mysterio
Not too many members of the WWE Universe would have expected that Rey Mysterio Jr. would be back in the title hunt at the age of 44. However, the agile high-flyer did have a match at Wrestlemania, as he challenged United States champion, Samoa Joe.
Although Joe has always been a heel in the WWE, he has been liked by the fans who can see his efforts and work-rate. He has been struggling through injuries and totally deserves this title and more. Due to this, the Universe didn’t really pick a favourite and did not have too many complaints about Joe’s quick win on the night.

Also, the storyline leading up to this big match seemed more of a promotional gimmick for Rey’s son Dominic, who was seen once again as part of his promos. All these factors made the WWE Universe not really care as to which star was a face or which one was a heel in the eyes of the company and the management, as they took it as a short filler segment and looked passed it.
