2. Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho in an Asylum Match (Extreme Rules 2016)
The feud between Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho got extreme when Jericho agreed to a match with Ambrose in an Asylum match, a steel cage match with weapons hanging around the cage. Some of the weapons dangling from the cage were a kendo stick, fire extinguisher, broomstick, straitjacket, etc.
Ambrose and Jericho unloaded on each other and made use of all the weapons at their disposal. Dean Ambrose kicked out of a Codebreaker and countered the second Codebreaker by throwing Jericho onto the thumbtacks, then followed it with Dirty Deeds for the win. The match was exceptional as it was the first ever Asylum match and Ambrose came out on top at the end.
1. Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (TLC 2016)
2016 was undoubtedly the best year for Dean Ambrose. The Lunatic Fringe gave some of his best performances inside the WWE ring. He faced AJ Styles for his WWE World Heavyweight Championship title in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match at the Tables, Ladder, Chairs pay-per-view.
The contest was scintillating not only because of the two most gifted wrestlers on the roster but also due to the storytelling and the ending. Dean Ambrose was about to retrieve the belt from the top when James Ellsworth pushed the ladder and Ambrose was thrown outside the ring. This helped AJ Styles retain his title.
Dean Ambrose will be facing Seth Rollins this Sunday at TLC. It will be another memorable encounter between the two fabulous wrestlers.
