#3 Brian Kendrick and TJ Perkins excel despite a dead crowd
On commentary, they discussed how the careers of Kendrick and Perkins crossed before when Perkins was a young aspiring wrestler. Kendrick, always a personal favourite, was able to show what he is willing to do in order to win. There were instances of desperation, such as when Kendrick tied Perkins to the ring ropes by using his opponent's wrist tape.
The match wasn't like usual Cruiserweight matches, as it was more slow-moving and methodical, though both hit their typical signature moves. Kendrick was relentless with his pinning combinations and counter moves.
Perkins was eventually caught in Kendrick's captain's hook submission move only to counter and kick out. Then, Perkins was able to lock Kendrick into the knee bar, and there was the possibility that the veteran would submit.
For the finish, Kendrick appeared to injure his knee, only to sucker his opponent into a submission and walk away as the new Cruiserweight champion. This showed how he was able to use desperation and his wits to capture the title away from his former protégé.
