Following weeks of mind games, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins finally met for an epic battle at Money in the Bank 2016. It was a high-stakes encounter, with Reigns putting his WWE Championship on the line.
The initial moments saw Rollins unsettling his opponent with some traditional submission locks.
It didn't take long for Reigns to target Seth's vulnerable knee. A couple of vicious moves allowed The Architect to get back into the match again. The action soon spilled out to ringside, where Seth barely escaped from the Spear.
He countered another Spear attempt with a Pedigree, but that wasn't enough to keep the Champion down. The Visionary then hit Reigns with one last Pedigree to become the new WWE Champion.

WrestleMania 31 was supposed to be the coronation of Roman Reigns as the new WWE Champion. However, a ghost from his past prevented that from happening.
The Big Dog challenged Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship that night. The Beast Incarnate failed to keep Reigns down despite hitting him with multiple F5s. The challenger was resilient and pushed Lesnar to his limit. Roman was just a couple of moves away from pulling off the unthinkable.
However, Seth Rollins had other plans in mind. He had already lost to Randy Orton earlier in the day but was desperate to get his WrestleMania moment. So, he decided to cash in his Money in the Bank contract in the ongoing main event.
He applied a Curb Stomp on Brock Lesnar but couldn't get the win. Before he could go for another Stomp, Lesnar picked him up for an F5. Roman Reigns returned and took The Beast down with a Spear. This allowed Rollins to hit one final Curb Stomp on Reigns and capture the WWE Championship.
