The Powerhouse of the Shield would come in and clean house, eliminating over a third of the competitors in the Royal Rumble. In his 2014 Royal Rumble run, he eliminated 12 other competitors breaking Kane's record of 11 from the 2001 Royal Rumble, a record that had stood for 13 years.
Amongst Reigns' victims included Kofi Kingston, Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Nash, Goldust, El Torrito, John Bradshaw Layfield, Luke Harper, Antonio Cesaro, his former Shield brothers in Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Sheamus before being eliminated by Batista and finishing second. Reigns would only need to wait just another year before he would taste Royal Rumble success after winning the 2015 Royal Rumble with a mere 6 eliminations.
Reigns would go on to become one of the biggest stars in the company in the following years, until 2018 when he stepped away from wrestling to treat his Leukemia which had returned from remission.
