While not the best match by any means, when John Cena faced The Miz at WrestleMania XXVII, it was significant for any number of reasons.

The match was not only between Cena and The Miz, but it also set up a feud between John Cena and The Rock, that would last the better part of the next two years. The Rock was the host of the WrestleMania event, where The Miz was set to confront John Cena.

It was a match where The Miz was finally expected to lose the title. However, when things turned chaotic, The Rock, who was hosting the show, turned the match into a No DQ match with no time limit. Fans thought that they were about to get something immense as a result, but were disappointed.

Instead, The Rock took advantage of the stipulations to attack Cena. The latter hit The Rock with an Attitude Adjustment in the build-up to the WrestleMania event. The Rock got his revenge with a Rock Bottom that allowed The Miz to win.

The match allowed The Miz to continue his unexpected WWE title reign, while it also set up The Rock and John Cena's match that would take place at the next WrestleMania event, as well as the one after that.
