In the greatest match of many of the participant's careers, The Hart Foundation team consisting of Owen, his brother Bret, Brian Pillman, The British Bulldog and Jim Neidhart fought with Steve Austin's band of renegades.

Fought in Canada, the match was a spectacle as the heel team of the Hart Foundation were cheered as conquering heroes while Austin's face team were booed out of the building.

The finish came when Owen capitalised on a distracted Austin who had been remonstrating with members of the Hart clan at ringside. Owen rolled Austin up as he entered the ring for the match-winning three count.
The Hart Foundation celebrated in the ring with their family members in what today is a heartbreaking scene as only Bret survives from his five-man team.
