5 best ways vacant WWE world Heavyweight Championship can be filled

The WWE faced a very awkward situation when Daniel Bryan picked up a legitimate injury which sidelined him for the time being. It was a big creative disappointment for the WWE as Bryan was surfing high on a momentum. One aspect that the creative would have to address at the moment desperately will be the future of the WWE World Heavyweight title. Though WWE teased a big announcement regarding the title, they decided to hook the fans for another week.Bryan is now offered the chance to vacate the title himself next week but the next problem that the WWE would be facing is to fill in a new champion. There are many ways in which they could do the same and here is a look at the best ways.

#5 A Pay-Per-View tournament

Back in the 90s WWE used to pull off a whole tournament in pay-per-view. What is meant was that we went into the pay-per-view with a vacated title and walked out from it with a new champion.

A wrester also had to compete in more than two matches on the same night as well which was the ultimate test in determining the new title holder. It is apparently too late for WWE to implement the plan on Payback but the Money in the bank could be a good place.

After all, the Money in the Bank would make no sense without a champion and the company could simply notch up a night long tournament which will make the fans realize who could travel the limits. It is a good thing for the buy rates as well since everyone will be eager to know who all will participate and who will win.

#4 Hang it up there Money in the bank match

As mentioned earlier, the Money in the Bank match has no sense whatsoever if there is no champion at the helm to challenge. So WWE could make Money in the bank type match with title hanging high instead of the briefcase.

They could even let the six men earn their way into the match by competing in some kind of qualification as well.

So after Payback, WWE will have a good amount of matches to build up to Money in the Bank where the qualified wrestlers could fight it out to determine the new champion. If they would want the Money in the Bank match as well, they could have a mid-card match for that as well with wrestlers who lost out in the qualifying matches.

#3 Bring back CM Punk

CM Punk has turned out to be someone who can’t be forgotten while mentioning the WWE at least until his contract runs out in July. Till then there are all the possibilities of a return in the least expected time.

While most of the fans are high drunk on Punk at the moment, he is essentially a face for them. He left the company as a face which automatically makes him one when he finally returns. But Punk returning and aligning with Stephanie McMahon as the new champion will be something that no one would expect.

A heel Punk is way better than the face one and WWE could milk him out till his contract runs out which might be the time when Bryan will be fit to fight again, which syncs it all together.

#2 Elimination chase leading to SummerSlam finale

SummerSlam is always considered as a big pay-per-view as far as the WWE is concerned and the ones leading up to it stands nowhere near compared to the biggest event of the summer.

And the company could do make it look more brilliant by reviving the Elimination chase Tournament which proved to be a great success when it was tested in WWE’s ECW.

The match in the tournament goes like this, it starts with any number of wrestlers and a wrestler can be eliminated by either pin or submission. Once a wrestler is eliminated the match will end, so superstars who managed to avoid the elimination would go to the next week to repeat the process until we have only one wrestler remaining.

Alliances could form and break under such rules and it will be a strategy based tournament rather than the plane old ones we see in the WWE at the moment.

#1 Give it to Kane

The most easy and logical way out of the chaos would be this one. Kane has been the No.1 contender for the title without doing much which indirectly makes him the right candidate to get the title once Bryan is gone.

It would also make Stephanie McMahon look more heelish now that she will be just making the situation worse for Bryan. Kane could also give occasional visits to Bryan at the hospital like the old Attitude Era as well.

Kane would have a good final run as well and he could simply resume the feud with Daniel Bryan once he returns making it fit in well with the fans. Problem with this however would be the way in which Kane needs to be booked after he gets the title as Bryan would still need a lot of time to return.
