WWE's lazy attempts at branding Sin Cara and Kalisto as the next Rey Mysterio have backfired miserably and the reasons behind the same are quite obvious. Pushing a generic masked luchador who has tons of fancy moves in his arsenal can only get someone over up to a certain point.

It may have worked with in Mysterio's case but some stellar character work helped his cause back in the golden ages. The times are different now and these days, factions are the best bet at building towards a breakout moment.

The 3-time WWE Champion forming a stable with the likes of Kalisto, Sin Cara, Gran Metalik and Andrade Cien Almas could click with the right treatment.

WWE could even take a page out of Impact Wrestling's book and go completely loco with Mysterio's stable, à la LAX (The Latin American Xchange) from TNA.
