5 big developments on RAW heading into WWE Money in the Bank 2016

The biggest announcement of the night

The longest running weekly episode in television history, Monday Night RAW, successfully completed 1200 episodes this week. The show has been entertaining the WWE universe for the past 23 years and will continue to quench the thirst of the WWE fans for decades to come.

This week’s episode of RAW has some astounding developments heading into the Money in the Bank PPV as the match card for this PPV is hugely dependent on the first RAW after the preceding PPV in the chronology, which this time, was Extreme Rules.

The stage is set for the upcoming PPV with a few announcements and revelations. As part of this slideshow, let us have a look at 5 landmark developments on RAW this week that could have a high impact on the match card of the upcoming PPV-

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

Possible new opponent for the IC title at MITB

Miz could be taking on a new superstar at Money in the Bank

Last Sunday at the Extreme Rules PPV, The Miz defended his Intercontinental Championship in a Fatal-4-way match against Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Cesaro. If one calls this match a blockbuster, that would be an understatement.

These 4 guys put on a fantastic show at the PPV and the IC title match was a show stealer. The Miz managed to retain the title successfully. This week on RAW, Cesaro was asked to fight against Miz, Sami Zayn against Sheamus and Kevin Owens against AJ Styles in a qualifying match to be a part of the ladder match. All three - Cesaro, Zayn and Owens managed to beat their opponents clean and secure a spot in the ladder match at MITB.

This leaves WWE the opportunity to pitch in a new opponent against Miz at MITB for the Intercontinental title. This would surely be answered in the coming weeks and we all would be happy if the creative could engage some young talent of the new era against Miz .

Charlotte no more under Flair's shadow

No more Ric Flair’s daughter

This week on RAW, Charlotte asked her father, Ric Flair, to walk away from her as she no longer needed her dad’s support. This opens up a great opportunity for the women as Ric has been an obstacle for all of them during their matches with Charlotte.

Guys like me have already begun to speculate that a Women’s title change is on the cards as Charlotte has been the champ for almost 200 days. Now that Ric has been given the boot, he will no longer interfere in Charlotte’s matches which would mean she would wrestle at MITB with no one in her corner – apart from Dana Brooke.

All IC challengers in ladder match, so sign of The Club

AJ could witness a slump in his graph

It has been interesting to note that this week on RAW, Cesaro was asked to fight against Miz, Sami Zayn against Sheamus and Kevin Owens against AJ Styles in a qualifying match to be a part of the ladder match.

Cesaro, Zayn and Owens managed to beat their opponents clean and secure a spot in the ladder match at MITB. This could make things interesting and force us to believe that there is a lot in store for the talented guys in the new era and the ladder match is shaping up admirably.

Yet another interesting development is that Aj Styles lost his MITB qualifying match which means that he will not be part of the title scene anytime soon. He also asked his former club brothers, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson to stay away from him which would mean a rivalry between these guys is in store for the future.

Multiple options open for Cena on his return

The Champ will have a lot of alternatives to work on

Next week on RAW, John Cena would be making his return and needless to say, that’s big news. All these developments on RAW would mean John Cena getting a wide variety of options to work with on his return.

A few of them would be to compete for the US title against Rusev, work with AJ Styles or be a part of the MITB ladder match. The creative team would love to have the flexibility of choosing one possible option out of the many available ones.

Much awaited main event but no Ambrose in it

What a bone-chilling return!

The much anticipated main event in the recent time, Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns was scheduled for MITB and this was the biggest development of the night. Rollins made a statement at Extreme Rules by delivering a Pedigree to Roman and he immediately got what he wanted at the next PPV.

This match in itself would be enough to bring a big spike in the ratings. Dean Ambrose, on the other hand competed against Dolph Ziggler in an MITB qualifying match and he won the bout. So, this means that Ambrose will not be a part of the ttitle scene anytime soon and we have to sit tight for a little longer until we get to see a triple threat between these three men.
