John Cena was someone who was rumored to never put talent over. That was one thing the WWE Universe never liked about him but things have certainly changed.

The 16-time WWE champion has constantly been putting over talents now and has been involved in a couple of squash matches as well. The plan for Cena at WrestleMania 35 initially was to put Lars Sullivan over but the NXT star suffered anxiety attack before his main roster debut and never made it to WWE TV until RAW after WrestleMania.
Cena still made an appearance at WrestleMania 35 and brought fans the fans' favourite Doctor of Thuganomics, gimmick. His segment with Elias was one of the best o the pay-per-view and there were no complaints about it whatsoever.
Now with Lars out for a few months, it won't be a surprise if WWE return to this storyline of Cena vs Sullivan at next year's WrestleMania.
