Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara were set to take on the team of Jon Moxley and Darby Allin in the main event.
At the beginning of the show, Jericho had promised if Jon Moxley managed to walk out of the arena on his own, he would take a leave of absence from the company for 60 days.
This could have resulted in a scenario where Moxley would essentially move on to different opponents within the span of two months. But Jericho isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
As promised, The Inner Circle wiped out Moxley before the main event could even begin.
Darby Allin fought and almost beat Jericho and Guevara singlehandedly. Things went sideways for this young prodigy when Jericho dropped Allin with the Judas Effect.
After the match was over, Moxley came out for some last-minute retribution against The Inner Circle, but as foreshadowed by the leader of this faction, Moxley ended up on the wrong side of a beatdown as The Inner Circle power-bombed the AEW World Champion through a table.
Clearly, Jericho and Moxley's feud is far from over, and this time around, Moxley has a whole roster waiting to face him for the AEW World Championship.
