#3: Drew McIntyre beat Dolph Ziggler despite fighting against a one-sided Extreme Rules stipulation
Before we go any further, I must say that it feels good to have a dominant WWE Champion who isn't Brock Lesnar.
After WrestleMania 36, Drew McIntyre has been the favorite heading into most of his WWE title matches, and the same can be said for McIntyre's Extreme Rules bout against Dolph Ziggler this year.
Leading up to the event, McIntyre physically dominated Ziggler in every way possible, and the only advantage that The ShowOff had was the secret stipulation that was revealed at Extreme Rules.
For those disappointed about the fact that no specific Extreme Rules stipulation matches were announced for the Pay-Per-View, Ziggler's secret stipulation was an Extreme Rules Match that only favored The ShowOff last night.
Unlike his opponent, McIntyre had to fight via normal rules to retain his WWE Championship, and yet, he managed to overcome Ziggler's threat with a devastating Claymore.
Apart from Bobby Lashley or maybe Randy Orton as potential future opponents, it doesn't look like Drew McIntyre's path as the WWE Champion is going to come to a screeching halt anytime soon.
