McIntyre simply retained his WWE title by applying a backslide maneuver on Orton, which was nothing but a safe way to conclude the bout without compromising the momentum of either competitor.
Maybe this story isn't over yet, which would warrant a rematch between the two at WWE Payback or at any other future date.
Either way, it would be unsatisfactory if fans don't get to witness a proper showdown between the two with a more direct outcome for the sake of this heated feud.
