One of the biggest spots of the night saw The Undisputed ERA implode at WWE TakeOver: Vengeance Day. Kyle O’Reilly, Adam Cole, and Roderick Strong came out to help the NXT Champion Finn Balor. However, Cole could not resist himself and ended up delivering a Superkick to Balor.

After KOR questioned him regarding his actions, Cole delivered a Superkick to his longtime partner and effectively ended their alliance. While there were several other moments where fans thought Undisputed ERA would implode, this ended up being a big surprise for many.

While breaking up Undisputed ERA could have its benefits for WWE, did NXT pick the right time to break up the faction? It seems like NXT waited a little too long to have Cole turn on KOR.

NXT could have pulled the trigger when KOR was on top and lost his second match against Balor. Instead, the creatives stretched the storyline until after Balor’s match with Pete Dunne came to an end at Vengeance Day.

The creative team will likely have plans for NXT’s top men going ahead. However, NXT could have broken up the faction by having one or more members switch brands, or waited until a big stage like WrestleMania to do so.
