#2. Is Tommaso Ciampa the right man to lead WWE NXT 2.0?
Earlier this week, Samoa Joe announced that he would have to relinquish his WWE NXT Championship due to an injury. This forced William Regal to book a championship match for the first episode of NXT 2.0.
Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne, LA Knight, and newcomer Von Wagner competed in a Fatal 4-Way match on Tuesday night. Wagner was injected into the match after Kyle O’Reilly was attacked by Dunne and Ridge Holland backstage.
In the end, Tommaso Ciampa pinned LA Knight to win the NXT Championship once again. Ciampa had to relinquish the title during his previous run, and it was good to see him win back the title in WWE.
However, is Ciampa the right match to lead the revamped NXT? Wasn’t the show going to be different and all about younger stars?
The Blackheart looked like a natural fit during the Black and Gold brand days. His character and look was a perfect fit for the old version of the brand.
However, someone like LA Knight or Kyle O’Reilly could have fit the picture better in line with the NXT 2.0 vision.
